New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson was the setting for the wedding of Beckie Lynn Hitt and David Scott Maintz on May 18, 1996. The Rev. David Griffin performed the double ring 2:30 P. M. ceremony. Organist was Linda Thompson, and soloist was Robyn Hosp.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hitt of Millersville. The groom is a son of Shirley Maintz of Oak Ridge, and the late David Maintz.

Jeanna Heitz and Mitzi Dormeyer of Jackson, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids included Bobbie Hitt of Millersville, sister of the bride; Tara Elfrink, Christy Carlton, and Samantha Thurman, the bride's niece, all of Jackson.

Serving as candlelighters were Julie Tarr and Sherry Bartles of Jackson.

Best man was Steve Maintz of St. Louis, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Matt King of Springfield, IL, Chris Hull of Jackson, Mike Rush of Burfordville, Todd Schneider of Cape Girardeau, and Shannon Birk of Jackson. Ushers were Sean Reagan of Jackson and Scott Cauble of Cape Girardeau.

Flower girls were Emilee Smith of Magnolia, AR, niece of the bride, and Stephanie Rhodes of Fenton, the bride's cousin. Tyler Maintz of St. Louis, and Bennett Smith of Magnolia, AR, nephews of the groom and bride, respectively, served as ringbearers.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Serving were Debbie Thurman of Jackson, and Kandi Smith of Magnolia, AR, sisters of the bride; and Becky Maintz of St. Louis, the groom's sister-in-law. Programs were handed out by Corey Thurman of Jackson, the bride's nephew, and Julie Rush of Burfordville, attended the guest book.

The groom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner on May 17, at her home.

The new Mrs. Maintz is a 1992 graduate of Jackson High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She is employed as a receptionist by LDD Inc., Cape Girardeau.

Maintz, a 1990 graduate of Jackson High School, attended SEMO. He graduated from the Missouri School of Barbering in 1994, and is self-employed at Kingsway Barber Shop in Cape Girardeau.

The couple is residing in Jackson, after a wedding cruise on the M.S. Fantasy, Carnival Cruise Lines, to Canary Islands.
